This was another exciting multi-cam spot for SYFY Wire. We built an entire cat city and had a “helicopter” cam, which was an underslung DJI Ronin 2 on a dana dolly. All lighting was was wirelessly controlled via a Microsoft surface and we even created a lightning strike gag. We were delighted and honored the win the following awards for this shoot: Promax Hot Spot, Promax Top Spot of June 2019, 2019 Clio Winner.

This national campaign honors the incredible contributions of women throughout history and Small Giant was awarded the NYC shoots. We put our subjects in front of a grey “Leibovitz style” backdrop, this time saturating it with blue lighting to create the aesthetic of the overall campaign. I was proud to be a part of such an important campaign.

It's not every day that you get the call to remake the a scene from one of the greatest movies ever made, the Godfather. The original scene was shot on a dolly with super baltar lenses and 35mm film. We took a more modern approach for this swamp themed recreation while trying to honor the original style of the film. We had a gimbal operator carrying a Movi Pro on a Ready Rig and I was operating the camera remotely with alpha wheels. We shot on a RED Epic Dragon and Contax Zeiss cinemoded prime lenses. The vintage lenses and diffusion filter combinations helped create a look similar to the original film.
